So ready for the weekend (then again, aren’t I always??)
For this round of Friend Friday, we are talking about outfit planning. As a fashion blogger I can’t help but ask myself “ooh, should this outfit make the blog today?”, especially if it’s a combination I haven’t worn before. Being pregnant has made me even more super creative because my tried and trues don’t work anymore so I have to rework it and not let this bump stop my fashion show! With that, onto the questions!
How do you go about picking your outfit for the day? (Do you lay stuff out the night before? Do you plan a whole week’s worth of looks Sunday night? Do you wing it every morning?)
My Type A personality wishes it could plan my outfits for an entire week but my creative streak just won’t let me do it! My outfits are planned the morning of and what I pick really depends on how I’m feeling that day. If I’m really sleepy or cranky when I get up, I usually go to something that doesn’t require ironing and that I know works. If I have some extra pep in my step, I get in my closet and have a blast, putting things together and trying to find something new.
Do you try stuff on and then take pics to see how it looks, like Cher in Clueless?
I don’t take pics to see how they look. I do lay my clothes out on the bed to get an idea of how it may look before I put it on. For a final check I consult the full length mirrors in my dining room to make sure I look put together.
And are you consistent in your planning or lack thereof, or is your planning limited to special events?
The only time I plan ahead is if there is a special event I’m going to especially if it requires getting really dolled up. I usually have an outfit in mind and if I need any additional pieces or accessories, I give myself time to go out and get them!
Do you have a way of keeping track of which outfits you wore when?
My blog is the best way I keep track of my outfits! Those special ones I really like or special events I go to I try my best to post to the blog so I can remember them ( and recreate them if I have to!)
How do you come up with new clothing combinations? (An app? Computer program? Trial and error)
I actually think up of possible outfit combinations before I even make my way to my closet, usually while I’m laying in bed trying to wake up. It’s crazy but that period between being fully awake and half asleep, I come up with my best outfits, blog posts, stories, etc. Then I get up, get in my closet, and go to work!

/ April 30, 2012Ahh don’t we all wish we could have a Carrie Bradshaw closet? I also wish I could plan my outfits for the week, that just seems like a lot of effort and you never know with the weather! (lmao making excuses)

/ April 28, 2012I think the only time that I plan per se is when I’m travelling for work. Mostly because I have to. But, my best outfits are always when i just dress with my mood. lol. Loved reading this and agree my blog definitely helps to track outfits!
