Beauty Blast: ProActiv Deep Cleansing Brush

ProActiv Deep Cleansing Brush

My skin has been acting crazy this year and since my normal products are off the table, I have to look to safer alternatives to treat my skin on the three days a week it wants to break out.  So this review came at a perfect time!  For the past few weeks I had the opportunity to review the Deep Cleansing Brush from ProActiv.  This handy tool sweeps away the dull surface layers of skin, getting into those pores to get rid of the dirt, grime, makeup, and sweat that accumulates everyday.  All you need is two AA batteries (that aren’t included), your favorite cleanser and your good to go!

I’ve been using this brush with my Clean and Clear cleanser and I have to say that it has taken my cleansing routing to another level! Using it is really easy – just apply your cleanser, click the switch, and let it go to work as you move the brush in an upward motion.  The soft bristles really get in there, working away at my trouble spots without being too aggressive on my sensitive skin.  The vibration of the brush is gentle, like a good massage and when I rinse the cleanser away, my skin feels super clean.  Does it totally zap away my acne?  Of course not (can’t expect miracles!) but it does keep them under control.  It’s also a great little treat at the end of my morning shower!

Have you used the Deep Cleansing Brush?  What did you think?  If you haven’t, would you give it a try?

I saw the commercial for the Proactive facial brush and I have to say that I am really disappointed. It is in fact better to say that the commercial is deceiving, like most commercials are.

In the commercial they make it appear as if the brush is making left-right rotations, like most battery operated toothbrushes do, but in reality all it does is vibrate.

After mine arrived, I noticed the difference at once, and I thought that I had imagined the rotations part, so I waited for the commercial to come up again and I saw that it was not my imagination. They really do make it appear as if it rotates. This is called promising something that you do not deliver.

The rotating function was my main reason for buying this product. As it is, I might as well use a simple handheld facial brush, as I have always done, because I do not experience any real benefits above the handheld brush. You have to make rotating motions while using it.

I wouldn’t recommend this product to someone above an old fashioned handheld facial brush.

I experienced the same thing and wrote proactiv and complained. Yesterday, I received a new brush in the mail…..the one exactly like the commercial! It really makes me question the integrity of the company if they try to pull this all the time! Bad business

  3. This looks similar to a gadget I got from Avon. It appears to have the same attachments.
I’m not a fan of proactiv though. Their products made my skin all wrinkly.

I’ve never used a cleansing brush before and didn’t know what the big fuss was about. But now I see why! I’m going to have to dry that one!

I did! There was some days I didn’t have time to use the brush I noticed that my skin didn’t feel as clean as it did when I used it. It also gives my face a nice little massage too!

  6. It seems like a lot of brands are making facial cleansing brushes now, I have never used them partly because most of them are pricey and I have never thought I needed it, however the Proactiv one intrigues me because it is a brand that I trust and it is reasonably priced, if I ever do purchase a facial cleansing brush I am deffinetly leaning towards Proactiv’s, thanks for posting I didn’t know they made a facial brush!

I like ProActiv’s products too and that was one of the reasons I wanted to give it a try. And you’re right, they do seem to be rather pricey. But I think this one is great, especially for people who can’t use any type of medicated products.
