Beauty Blast: Organix Smooth Hydration Argan Oil and Shea Butter Hair Care Products

Natural hair care products

I’ve been waiting anxiously to write this review for weeks now!  It’s been that long since I started using the Smooth Hydration Argan Oil and Shea Butter Hair Care products from Organix on my natural curly hair.  I already went out and bought their Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo after being introduced to this brand so I was already a fan.  After using the shampoo, conditioner, Moisture Restore Mask, Curl Enhancing Yogurt, and Moisture Restore Hair Oil I’m officially an Organix groupie! It’s been awhile since I’ve been this excited about hair products, seeing an immediate difference in the appearance and texture of my curls. So I’m going to calm down my PJ joy and give you the run down.

Natural Hair Styles for Black Women

My Hair Day 3

Argan Oil and Shea Butter Shampoo

The shampoo feels as good as it sounds, with a creamy texture formulated with Shea Butter to moisture your hair and Argan Oil for luster and shine. No matter your hair type, it promises to deliver silky smooth strands or soft natural curls without all the harsh stuff like sulfates and parabens.  Ladies it does not disappoint!  After one lather, my curls were soft and clean.  My scalp was very moisturized, not suffering from the occasional dryness I get during the summer.

Argan Oil and Shea Butter Conditioner

Like the shampoo, its sulfate and paraben free with its name ingredients promising to deliver smooth, shiny, and frizz free hair.  It has the same consistency as the shampoo, smooth and creamy.  While I wish it was a little thicker I had the slip I needed to detangle my curls.  Stepping out the shower I could already feel how much softer my hair was.  My natural hair stayed just as soft with a lot of volume days after washing it.

Argan Oil and Shea Butter Moisture Restore Mask

This deep conditioner is made for those of us with damaged, coarse hair.  After shampooing, I applied and detangled my hair and waited 3 to five minutes before rinsing it out.  I was expecting it to be thicker than the conditioner (the consistency was about the same) so the detangling process wasn’t any faster than it was with the conditioner.  The major difference however was the crazy curl definition I experienced afterwards!  My curls were poppin’  in my wash and go which is something I haven’t experienced with any other deep conditioner.  I also liked the fact that I didn’t need heat or spend a whole bunch of time leaving it in either (my daughter doesn’t have that much patience!)

Day 2 After Using the Restorative Mask

Argan Oil and Shea Butter Curl Enhancing Yogurt

I put all of my other styling products away and used this exclusively as my daily styling cream.  This product aims to create soft and springy curls while locking in the moisture it needs to be healthy.  Besides smelling amazing, it kept the softness theme going keeping my hair moisturized all day long.  My hair didn’t feel greasy, sticky or weighed down.  While it couldn’t contain all the frizzy business going on in this hair it gave it shine and moisture which my hair really needs.

Argan Oil and Shea Butter Argan Oil Moisture Restore Weightless Oil

I’ve been stepping out of my Olive Oil box and trying my hand at adding oil to daily style routine.  While this one was good (but uber expensive) I was quite happy with this one in this collection. Designed for all hair types, this lightweight oil promises touchable and shiny hair.  Using it by itself gave my hair the moisture it needs in the a.m, without feeling greasy.  I also liked the fact that a little went a long way and my hair stayed soft all day.  While I didn’t notice a big difference in shine with my curls, I did notice it when I straightened my hair a few days ago.  It’s the only styling product I’ve used since then!

If you want to give these products a go, you can find them at Walgreens, WalMart, and CVS for $7.99 each.  (Can’t beat that!)

Have you tried any Organix products?  Which ones are you crazy about?

I haven’t tried these products yet, but it is on my to do list. I have been looking for a new shampoo and conditioner since I might be allergic to some of the ingredients in the Shea Moisture line. I can’t wait to try these.
