I’m always down for beauty at a bargain, especially when it comes to cosmetics. Unless it’s foundation, which is something I feel is worth splurging on, I’m always up to giving wallet friendly makeup a try. Hard Candy isn’t any different! Sold exclusively at Walmart with an average price of $6.00, its totally affordable offers a wide array of products and I had the fun job of reviewing some of their stuff!
Slowly but surely I’ve been getting on the blush train only because I never fail to create a mess with loose powders! This blush however, has been baked for eight hours, resulting in a texture that makes it easy to get just the right amount without dousing your face in it! For more dramatic color, you can apply with a wet brush. The color I tried out was Living Doll and though it looks super-pinkish, just a little of it really brings out a nice glow in my skin! Gotta love that!
Disclaimer: I have yet to master the art of the liquid eyeliner! So keeping that in mind, I thought this liner was cool to use. It wasn’t too messy and the applicator brush was thin enough for me to try to get a straight line! I tried this liner out in turquoise which was a little tricky because if the line wasn’t straight, it looked crazy! So a tip for you ladies like me – use this one with a complimentary eyeshadow color like a blue or blue green even and then smudge the liner in a little bit. You still get the impact of the liner without the crazy looking line!
Button your lip Ultra Wet Lipgloss
Housed in a cute push-button lip pen, this gloss is definitely lives up to its name giving you a lot of shine as well as the right amount of color. My lips didn’t feel really sticky and the gloss lasted most of the day. The color I tried out in Maven was great for a natural look. Word of caution – don’t get happy with the push button! Too much gloss will come out and you’ll have a little mess on your hands!
Meteor eyes Baked Meteor Eye Shadow – Super Nova
Out of the bunch, this eyeshadow was my favorite! Baked in the same way as the blush, it’s easy to get the right amount of color . Supernova was the color I tried and I loved the little flecks of glitter in it! It also gave me a rich, purple color, especially when applied with a wet brush. I recommend using it as an accent color for the creases of your eyes for a great night look!
I used this nail polish in Mr. Right on my nails after giving my feet an at-home pedi and the color is super deep! Two coats is really all you need and after a few days the polish still looks great! Though I wasn’t too crazy about the color (because it looks more black than purple), I do appreciate the deep matte color that’s perfect for your toes!
