This Spring for me is all about being adventurous and stepping out of my comfort zone, especially when it comes to beauty in fashion. I got a head start in the fashion department with the 30×30 challenge but I needed to get back to my other love which I feel I haven’t been covering as much as I used to! (I’m telling you there just isn’t enough time in the day!)
Anywho, today I’m featuring a makeup look I did last weekend for Mother’s Day. I just woke up that morning and just did something that was competely not the norm for me: Heavy Liner and a bold lip. I always play it safe when it comes to my lip color! All the colors I have are either natural brown colors or soft shades of purple and pink. I tried the red lip color awhile back but I was super conservative putting it on. As for eyeliner, the only time I piled that on was for Halloween so that doesn’t really count either! This time though, I stopped being a scaredy cat and I did my version of a cat eye instead! I fought really hard to keep my eyeshadow toned down and natural so the liner can stand out. I used my normal cheek color and just went all out my red lip gloss, which gave a deep rich color that I needed without a lot of work!
It’s definitely a different look for me but I kinda liked it and would probably wear it again!

/ May 18, 2011I’ve been searching for a good coral kind of lip colour, not necessarily a lipstick, but glosses as well! I love your lip colour here! xo

/ May 19, 2011Coral is a beautiful color!! But it is one of those things I think would work better as a gloss because the wrong shade can have you looking crazy!
